In contrast, I’ve had blood drawn on my calf by ankle biters and nearly had my face bit by a Lab.

You cannot claim your ownership of non-abused dogs is representative of pits as a whole.
At least with an ankle biter, they can be drop kicked across the room.
Far easier to defend yourself against one of them than a larger breed.
