I think this is one of those deals like Berkeley's nuclear arms resolutions, totally meaningless but it makes them feel important.

WH is a separate city. I think Hollywood its city of LA. So mu understanding is they passed a resolution to ask LA to remove. BTW they have Fatty Arbuckle and Errol Flynn stars and WH said nothing.

Hollywood is a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles. About thirty years ago, part of the section of the neighborhood of Hollywood incorporated as its own city within the city of Los Angeles. So, West Hollywood is a distinct city within the city of Los Angeles. Every few years, the remaining neighborhood of Hollywood — the part left after the part that became the city of West Hollywood broke away to become the City of West Hollywood — makes noise about incorporating to become ITS own city. However, THAT would be a big mistake, which is why it’s voted down by the denizens of the Hollywood neighborhood. You see, the neighborhood of Hollywood now runs the gamut from very, very poor to very, very rich and is part of the diverse City of Los Angeles. When the part that became West Hollywood broke away, it was almost all upper middle class people, rich people, and businesses that broke off. If what is left of “Hollywood” became its own city, a very small tax base would have to provide services for a large, needy population. Of course, it would serve the rich people there right, since that is the percentage that reflexively votes to “soak the rich”!
