ayne Cheney, an Iowa pig farmer with a history of stalking and harassment arrests, has told the news media that authorities interviewed him about missing college student Mollie Tibbetts.

These young girls that go out jogging alone on these deserted back trails without a weapon or at least mace are asking for trouble. I’ve read of many attacks, abductions and murders occurring while women were jogging, even one in my town a couple years ago on a very popular, well-traveled one.
These girls that jog think they’re safe and secure with only other health nuts around, but actually they’re excellent places for sex offenders and sick criminals to find victims.

Very true! When I go biking, I prefer the more-isolated trails. I’m an old guy...and I always carry a weapon of some sort. (Note to the FBI: I’m not talking about a firearm. I lost them all in a boating accident. I’m talking about a pointy stick and pepper spray.)
Anywho, I’m surprised - and dismayed - by the number of single women I see using those isolated trails. I’m seriously thinking about buying some small containers of police-grade pepper spray, and handing them out as a public service.
That might be a better use of my charity dollars than giving to, say, the Red Cross.
I've been a little curious about this whole deal since it started. At the police/FBI news updates, for some reason the authorities frequently decline to comment on some leads that they've received.
In no way connected, but none the less of interest, the annual Ragbria rollin' party (and it's 12,000-15,000 riders) took place that week and went through Iowa City (40 miles west of Brooklyn) the night Molly disappeared.
And this morning on the news I saw an interview with the girls father in which he hinted that he 'thinks that she could be alive and with somebody she knows.
We'll see what happens but I just don't think that we're getting the straight chit on what's going on here.

I believe that there are still some of his family in the area but I don't think that there is any connection with those Tibbets and Molly Tibbets' family.
I read somewhere that she and her family moved to Iowa from Oakland, CA.

When I used to run it was always with a buddy in highly populated areas - or in Army Formation, Sir! ;)
Yeah, it does seem a little off, but I won’t second-guess the cops when it comes to being tight-lipped when they need to be.
