This prototype design is also 30 foot bollards, but the addition of anti-climb plates and an over-sized barrel top, virtually eliminates the ability of humans to free climb over it. Hopefully, we get this improved design in the next year's funding. By deterring climbers, we can save people from horrible injuries like this man's, and avoid the medical expenses as well.

The thing I don’t like about that design in that it looks like it would be easy to just throw a rope over the top and tie it off to one of the slats at the bottom, then climb up the rope.
