A 9-year-old boy was robbed at his lemonade stand in Union County Saturday afternoon.
The Union County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the entrance of St. John's Forest around 3 p.m.
Deputies say the boy was approached by a black male teen wearing a camouflague hat and black shirt. The teen allegedly stuck a black handgun to the boys stomach and demanded the money. The teen then fled on foot and the boy was not hurt.
Deputies searched the area and found a trail in the woods nearby where the hat, black BB handgun, and a metal tin that contained the cash was found. Deputies believe the suspect left a bicycle and walked from there to the lemonade stand before the robbery.
If anyone has any information you're asked to call Union County Crime Stoppers.

Agreed, it’s very sad what happened in North Carolina.
When I was their age or a little younger, my best friend and I sold paper hats we made out of folded newspapers for a penny apiece outside her house. Her older sister told us none of her friends had better see us selling those stupid hats “or else!” and she said no one was going to buy them either. No one did, but we sure had fun that summer day almost 60 years ago.

I have only visited once and I was very young. I’m afraid the show “Newhart” is what I think of as Vermont (and they presented an idyllic picture, at least in the opening sequence).

Wasn’t the Bob Newhart show placed in Vermont? Many years ago in another lifetime I drove an 18 wheeler and time to time I would have a load through vermont, yes, quite picturesque.

I miss reading. I used to read ferociously, staying up until 3 AM reading a book that has its hooks in me, but...I can’t read books anymore, my eyes just can’t take it. I listen to audiobooks now, but it isn’t quite the same.
But I am still glad to hear audiobooks...:). It’s all good!
It is kind of disillusioning. Crap, kids can’t even be kids anymore. I wouldn’t want to grow up today.
Never watched the Bob Newhart show...as I get older and less mobile, I have a whole boatload of television things I have never taken the time to watch...Hill Street Blues, The Bob Newhart Show, Seinfeld...I just never watched any of them in the Seventies, and after I got out in the eighties, I wasn’t watching television.
I don’t watch now either, but for different reasons!
