I’ve been to one single bullfight in my life (it was a three-bull event). So, on the 2nd bull...he actually jumped up into the stands and scared about forty folks on the bottom level (that took 15 minutes to coach him to come back down onto the field). The 3rd bull ended up knocking the guy down, and stomped on his leg...they had to carry that guy off. After that all ended, I got lost from my tour group, and missed the bus back to the hotel for the evening....that was an experience.
Good for those punks, sticking knives in and tormenting the animals prior to killing them before a cheering crowd of sick heartless a-holes.
In the 60s, Bullfighting from Mexico was a regular Friday prime-time show on the NYC “educational” channel, WNDT (which later became PBS channel WNET)
The host/commentator was Sidney Franklin, “The Bullfighter From Brooklyn”. They would show films from the latest season in Tijuana and Mexico City and Franklin would explain all the nuances.
