AURORA, Colo. (AP) A man who fatally shot an intruder in his suburban Denver home early Monday was killed by responding officers who saw him holding a weapon, investigators said.
Police received multiple calls about a break-in at the home at about 1:30 a.m., and when officers arrived, they heard gunshots inside, The Aurora Sentinel reported .
Aurora police, who described the scene in a statement as very chaotic and violent, said they encountered an armed man and fatally shot him. That man turned out to be the person who lived in the home. A second man, the suspected intruder, was found dead during a search.

Do they recruit their cops from Somalia? This is just a horrific thing to happen.

Aurora police, who described the scene in a statement as very chaotic and violent, ...If the intruder was already dead I'd like to hear a detailed explanation of that statement. It better be a good one.

The link seemed wormy. Did the article say if the cops told the homeowner to drop the gun?
I ask because it does not seem very likely the homeowner would point his gun at responding uniformed cops since he was the victim of the /break-in/burglary.

Trigger happy cops? Can handle homeowner being armed? Or did homeowner threaten cops? Definitely not trusting cops on this one. Lets see cameras and witnesses.

I can hear it now -—”If the homeowner hadn’t had a gun, he wouldn’t have gotten shot. Ban private gun ownership!”

Thanks for posting that link. The dead homeowner is not what I expected for the neighborhood. A decorated Vietnam vet for one thing. Lived there for 39 years with his wife.

Firing into a house, you have to wonder how many other occupants were at risk of flying bullets.
