ALBERTA, July 30, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) An anonymous car shopper in Alberta known only as David isnt transgendered, but pretending to be helped him save a lot of money on his car insurance.
Earlier this month CBC News spoke with David, who explained how he came up with the idea while shopping for a new Chevrolet Cruze. His insurance company told him it would come with a premium of about $4,500 per year due to previous tickets and a collision. If he was a woman, he learned, that cost would only be $3,400.
"I was pretty angry about that. And I didn't feel like getting screwed over any more," said David, who was 23 at the time. "So I asked them to change my gender on my auto policy, and she's like, we can't do that."
So David told his doctor Id like to identify as a woman. The doctor wrote him a note confirming his decision, which he then submitted to Albertas provincial government (which has since made it even easier to legally change genders). A few weeks later, it sent him a new, female birth certificate.
"I was quite shocked, but I was also relieved," said David, who wound up getting the lower premium and saving approximately $91 per month. "I felt like I beat the system. I felt like I won."
David stressed that the stunt was neither a political statement nor an expression of gender confusion; it was solely to take advantage of a loophole.
"I'm a man, 100 per cent. Legally, I'm a woman," he said. "I did it for cheaper car insurance."
Insurance Bureau of Canada spokesman Steve Kee frowns upon such incidents, warning that it constitutes making a fraudulent claim and could impact you for any future insurance application that you make, or any other aspect of your life." Thats why David has chosen not to share his real name while telling his story.
Car insurance tends to be more expensive for men because women are less likely to have car accidents, get speeding tickets, or be arrested for drunk driving, Esurance explains. Regardless, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled in 2011 that charging the different sexes different premiums is a form of discrimination.
The Daily Wire notes that the story has offended pro-LGBT activists such as former Trans Alliance Society chair Marie Little, who complained that it casts doubt on everybody else's motives for making those changes.
"Whether he says, 'I didn't mean to do harm to the trans community,' is irrelevant because the impact is very real to a community that is already quite vulnerable," Marni Panas, a trans woman, told CBC News.
Critics quoted by the CBC did not explain how exactly it harmed gender-confused individuals, however, nor did they address the fact that Davids stunt was only possible thanks to rules that deny gender has any objective, externally-verifiable standard.
> And nothing can be done about it! Insane fools changed the law so it directly contradicts human nature, and this is the result. <
I’m waiting for a mediocre male golfer to declare that he’s a woman, then join the Ladies Professional Golf Association and go on tour. As you noted, they wouldn’t be able to stop him.
Can I self identify with a certain age? My 40’s were pretty good.
I’ve already said that if he changes the identity of his car to a tricycle, can he save on collision insurance?
Very good. Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals #4. Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”
LOL...Post of the Day!
Hmmmm....we pay close to $500 per month to insure my 17 year old son here in FL. Wonder how much it would cost if he was a girl?
Unfortunately the name is taken. They make police equipment.

Trans-phobia!!! Trans-phobia!!!! Who is this bigot Kee to threaten a brave person for transitioning to being a woman? More evidence of government transphobia. Kee needs to be sent to PC re-education camp.
Hmmmmmmm....... If I can identify as a woman and get my Ducati to identify as a Vespa......
Which makes it no different than anyone else who "identifies" as something they're not.
$3400 Canadian is $2600 US. That’s still a lot. I got full coverage for my 17 y.o. daughter for $135/mo.
Also...what does the “b” in their name stand for?
Dear family and friends,
I’m no longer a man,
but I’ve got great news...
I just saved 15% on my car insurance.
Signed,

If a society ignores facts and just makes up whatever they want and then calls it truth, that society is not going to survive.
We must push back against these leftists.

I wonder how insurance in general will be able to handle their traditional sex-related differences, once they are forbidden to ask at what point a person started identifying as another gender?
I mean, I doubt a transgender woman drives any better than a cis-male, thinking you are woman isn’t going to make you a better driver.
And I imagine a transgender man won’t die any sooner than a cis-woman, but a man gets better life insurance than a woman.
Of course, that pales next to the number of things like awards, scholarships, memberships, and set-asides that are made based on sex (and also race, which is probably the next thing to fall to the “what do you think of yourself today” fashion).
Note that right now, trying to claim you are a minority if you are not perceived as one gets you ridiculed and attacked by the minority who hate that you claim their status but didn’t suffer like they did.
Of course, there is a growing movement in the feminist community that feels the same way abour transgender women, who claim common cause and effect with them, while having all the male privilege they were born with.
Nothing seems to make these women as angry as being told that men make the best women.
A lot less, believe me. ANd of course, if he says he’s a woman, he’ll drive so much better.
