Anyone driving should know this. The quickest way to hit debris on the roadway is to follow vehicle#1 ahead of you, too closely. The vehicle/truck you're following too closely suddenly moves from lane #2 to lane #1, and you, who are following too close are unable to react in time. I've seen this repeated.

Another reason is driving too fast for road conditions. Ie: Taking curves at 75 in a 45 and suddenly debris appears giving you no time to avoid it. Yet another reason is total distraction, not paying attention to your direction or travel, texting, looking down, using the phone, arguing with other occupants etc...

My point is, if you’re hitting debris on the roadway, the chances are very good, it’s the drivers fault.
