Other than the near dud that was number two, the Mission: Impossible franchise, most especially entries four and five, have delivered a spectacular time at the movies.
Everything that is Tom Cruise — his thirty years experience, his tireless drive to stay on top, his relentless quest to entertain and thrill, his belligerent refusal to spoil our good time with politics and messaging — he pours all of this into his baby, his golden goose, his Big Movie Star insurance program; and with Fallout, the sixth in the series, he delivers the best action movie since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight left us all sockless a decade ago.
In other words...James Bond who?

John Wick was excellent.
Like you, I didn’t care for the sequel.
Not really interested in part 3.
Sean Connery is Bond—James Bond.
007 forever.
Me too. It think it was on par with the best of the other Mission: Impossible movies.
Cruise is really starting to look his age which actually made me feel a little better. He’s still really athletic though.
He is also one of the actors that hasn’t made the dumb mistake of alienating so many of his potential fans even though he’s a scientologist.
I recommend seeing it for those who like the series and action flicks in general.
My wife says the same
I liked him in most his movies but Top Gun, M:I series, Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow, and Jerry McGuire really stand out to me.
He’s great as the junkyard guy in Star Wars.
“Tropic of Thunder” may be his best role in the last 10 years.
The Dark Knight was pretty good. Worth the trouble to look for. Real shame that Keith Ledger (The Joker) died before he got a chance to see his own movie. I think he got an Oscar for it.
Agreed, cruise is a quite good actor. Perhaps you have seen Operation Valkyrie? He plays the role of Klaus Von Stauffenberg in the bomb plot against Hitler. It is quite a movie.
I saw it last night. Same stuff as all the others, mother cycle chase, double crossing. Henry Cavill was terrible in it. He may be Superman, but that boy can’t act even with a mustache. To be honest, Rogue Nation is better, but as a spoiler alert Guenevere...... AND THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE.....Alec Baldwin dies in the movie! And to me, next to the helicopter Chas at the end, was the best part of the movie. But no way in hell does it come close to the Dark Knight. Not even close
I’m a simpleton and was entertained the whole movie. No T&A so it only gets four stars.
Loved TC’s Harry Weinsteen impersonation, had the sleezy guy pegged down pat.
I see some folks are finding all sorts of reasons to stay away from the movie - I’ll probably watch it because entertainment is what the movies are supposed to be about and one who entertains w/o getting his personal politics and religion all tangled up in it is worth watching...
Did he have a splodey head!!!!!
Yes. Excellent movie
Take same pose and just add different titles for his movies.
Tom Cruise runs and runs and rides fast motorcycles and cars.
He is failing but comes from behind to complete the job at hand.
I agree. Saw it today..
