Hey, it’s pretty much free money from the tax payers, so what’s the big deal?

Since her supervisor was aware of this, I’m betting there’s no way she can be touched. She’ll say she told her boss she didn’t feel well and needed to rest and her boss said, “OK”. And that will be that. To some extent, it makes sense. If your boss signs off on something, why is it your responsibility to do anything any differently? (Don’t get me wrong: I think this is outrageous. However, it’s this employee’s boss who REALLY is responsible here.)

How could we even tell? Sleep or awake, the productivity level at most offices seems to be about the same.

I read the whole story. (I felt it important to FReep that).

My opinion is, “That’s it?” A firm audited the government and these were the most egregious missuses of government resources that were found.... IN CALIFORNIA?!!!

The bigger story that should be investigated is how much the auditor was paid to “Look the other way” and NOT find serious missuses of government funds, like bribery.

It’s not the $40,000 but the 4 million she will receive in retirement over her remaining years after retirement.

California.....

Heard on Rush or Plante today that all the big Silicon Valley companies have cafeterias and offer free lunch and free dinner if work late etc AND utilize luxury coaches to pick up and take home workers daily, also for free.

Understand the area wants to BAN the cafeterias as the local restaurants say it is costing them business and people also upset with the free transportation.

The implication is that they will probably be succesful in getting the cafeterias closed.

Like it was said have a few thousand people working in your building and you create chaos if they all go to lunch etc at same time so cafeteria makes sense and it is a ‘nice’ perk...

Whenever I head any comment about a politician or G worker sleeping or absent from work, my first thought is good, they are not doing any damage.

When Mayor Coleman Young was head dude of Detroit, he hired his friends to $50,000 a year no-work jobs.

That is what demoncraps do.

meanwhile, the lines go around the block in the blazing hot 100 degree sun... and people sometimes have to wait out there 2 or 3 days before they can even get inside to a counter

where the clerks are over=worked and cranky as hell
and almost totally uncooperative, unhelpful, curt....
and each employee tells you something different than the last one

a miserable horrible mistreatment of the citizens

oh yes, you can’t get an appointment within 2 or 3 months, by which time your driver license is expired of course since they only notify you 6 weeks ahead to try to make an appointment
