One even still had an index card Bowers had made with the contact information of a dozen men who were interested in sexual services. “A smoking gun,” Tyrnauer calls it. One of the men on the card was still alive, and confirmed Bowers’ stories to Tyrnauer, too. All of this was in addition to the work a team of researchers did to fact check many of Bowers’ anecdotes.

sad how churches sometimes teach only parts of whole sections in the bible. thankfully each and every whole story or section in the bible is there for anyoe wanting to read it, not just rely on some teacher/preacher.

I did not understand the book of romans at all until I was in my 40’s but only because I had a great bible study leader and the study group went through the book of romans like a couple of law school grad students.
Since then, I’ve told people that I would have saved myself a couple of decades of confusion is I’d just read and understood romans. the key here is understood. because I was taught and did read romans when i was younger—but I did not understand it.
as a result I’ve told people not to read romans alone but rather in a group—and do so early and often.
but its like that with much of the new testament.
the old testament can be read by anyone including the unsaved. its meanings are readily apparent to anyone. but the new testament is not that way imho.
why? because to the normal unsaved mind

I love how God has truth of Himself and His best ways for us to follow all readily available and then as we are finally ready we seek or bump into them and are open to accepting the revelation of various scripture that we may have heard numerous times but never really grasped meanings before.
As a child all I heard as scripture was read was the ‘fear” or scarey parts of things, it took many more years before I started to embrace the love and forgivenss and see His word as guide for living God’s best for myself and with those around me.
prayers for all injured by topic of this thread - hollywood industry and it’s greedy, selfishness - that God will help them as they need and change their lives for best.
