"The very title of the thread displays a certain contempt. There are some incredible intellects here on FR, this only cheapens us all collectively.

I don't really see it that way. I see FR as a microcosm of (small c) conservative America - or what I prefer to distinguish as "natural" Americans.

We meet people here who may not be like us in every respect, and with whom we may sometimes disagree; but at heart we mostly cherish the same values.

Every forum like this is also infiltrated by parties who have surreptitious agendas, but that's not something we need to worry about. (Though I think we're entitled to have a little fun with them now and then).

I like being here because, among the Sincere People, I learn so much, enjoy the camaraderie, and perhaps can contribute something now and then.

As for the others - well, I can't do anything about them. But since they're going to be here anyway, pursuing what they do, they may as well learn something about write from rong.
