I watched the “Autopsy” series the other nite on Janis Joplin. She had quit, then went back to it and her dealer failed to have the latest batch tested, turned out if was near pure heroin, so she OD on what she thought was her usual fix
There’s also a great series on REELZ for those that can get it, “Breaking Band” about band breakups. Drugs played a role in virtually every one, maybe except Sonny and Cher. Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Van Halen, this week the Beach Boys, next Sunday PM The Supremes. Really well done one hour series.

In OH, the drug situation seemed real bad since I moved here. It was bad in MA, too, but it seemed to be a more debilitating overall situation around here. Maybe the lack of decent paying jobs has something to do with it.
It seemed to have spun out of control not long after Kasick forced Medicare for all lower-income folks on the state. I wonder if easier access to health care caused way-too-easy access to pain killers, which people took in addition to whatever they were using already. Pure speculation.

From back in March:
Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato will march with gun-control demonstrators at the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C., according to David Hogg, the Florida shooting survivor who has been one of the most vocal gun-control activists.
Were gonna have four major independent women that are standing with us and walking beside us, and those are Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, Hogg told CNNs Anderson Cooper on Wednesday evening. Theyre gonna be standing there with us and marching with us, and theyre some of the few people that are really coming out and stepping up with us.

Seems Ive seen the name before, but I cant place her. Is she an entertainer? She was a judge on American Idol, if you partake.

Several light years beyond gorgeous.
What’s wrong with these people - having the world by the b*lls and not enjoying it?

I had to look her up, my wife knew who she was.
Wikipedia says she is a professing Christian.
But I would guess that opiates at that power level are very hard to get out of your mind.
When the typical non-drug Christian falls off and sins, normally it probably isn’t to go out and do heroine. But that is what it is for a drug addict Christian.
A drug addict is always addicted. That doesn’t change, what changes is the willpower to suppress the hunger.
