It’s one of the reasons I can’t believe in the ruthless tyrant the left is selling.
I believe he can make difficult decisions that cause hardship to those he sees as Russia’s enemies. He is staunchly Nationalistic. Many of his actions show a great sense of humor and the ability to laugh at himself. He has a commitment to Russian family values and to religion.
One of the problems is context, Putin is judged by Americans without knowing the context of his actions, the reasons, the actual facts, the pressures on his country. Not a saint, sometimes a sinner but I believe he is someone we could work with on many fronts.
