Yes. That sounds like work. hahaha. But I think we can probably boil up some chickens and make our own broth. Even the canned broth has MSG in it. :(
Our second son used to eat the Ramen flavor packets. (probably ate the package, too. haha) That is when we started noticing his volatile, emotional behavior. Then we paid attention to all the things he was eating.
Its really easy to make chicken bone broth. Roast an organic chicken and have a great meal. Take the carcass and bones and throw them into a crockpot with good water (not tap water usually) and a couple splashes of apple cider vinegar, leave it for 12-24 hrs, then add vegetables and cook another 12-24 hrs. Strain into big bowl and cool to room temp, then ladle into solo cups and freeze. Cut the cup and warm, when ready for the broth, adding your salt and whatever spices you want.
I have a son who also loves msg. And he reacts to it too, but still wont give up his chex mix etc.
