The devil’s in the details omitted from the article, hinted in part by “eating about four [large] bags” of the offending product (I’m not going to call Cheetos “food”).
Many bagged snacks are now using the combination of MSG and the following “E” numbered corollary flavor enhancer chemicals: Disodium inosinate & disodium guanylate. Cheetos is no exception. Fritos Chili & Cheese chips is another.
When combined, those latter chemicals magnify MSG’s effects by up to 30x. It’s a toxic cocktail for the gut, delivers excitotoxins to the brain and are toxic to other organs. Some people are more sensitive for reasons I’m not going into. Another omitted detail is that I guaran-damn-tee that this girl was overweight. Her gallbladder is just one casualty resulting from her ignorant, enabling mother; more problems will follow, as the gallbladder is more important than doctors believe and it didn’t need to be removed. The girl’s pain was a red flag; removing the gallbladder further enables this girl’s problem.
Read the labels. If you like spicy snacks on occasion, there ARE naturally-flavored snacks cooked in natural fats which don’t poison your body.
MSG hides his neurotoxic self legally under so many words on the ingredient list. Among others, it can be inside the words flavoring, natural flavors, spice, yeast extract, etc.
To find chips without msg, you need to stay away from all flavored chips except some of the sour flavors like salt and vinegar or limon. 99.9% of canned or pouched or boxed soups in supermarkets have it. Most chips and crackers contain it.
And like logi said, avoid the chips made with rancid seed oils like canola. Look for avocado or coconut oils.
