I know two people who had their gall bladder removed. They both said that they thought something was wrong when eating anything with a high fat content — junk food, junk snacks (e.g. Cheetos, as here), salad dressing, pizza, cheese — sent them running to a bathroom stall within minutes for an astonishingly thorough re-balancing, shall we say. They both thought it was IBS or bad “restaurant practices” until it started happening at home too.
After a great many attacks, my gall bladder was removed, and I'm pretty sure it was the pint of ice cream I ate after every dinner. :(
I also know two young ladies who had their gallbladders removed in their early 20s. Both were otherwise healthy, very active, and had excellent eating habits, and did not excessively use alcohol.
In my house we refer to that as TBE, or Total Bowel Evacuation...
