From my POV it should have cascaded down paired stepped sides at 90 degrees.
Dealing with pounding water is generally to be avoided.
That said, we are so far behind, some Asian country will soon have one; if this one is popular.

Actually it IS aestatically pleasing. They put an artificial waterfall behind our condo, it too is pleasing. I could stare at flowing water for hours.
