Ourvet made that suggestion because our cat would not go into the cage.
This is how we caught a once former ferel cat.
He was tiny about 2 months old, his mother was so smart she started bringing her around our house.
We are in rural NY state and it was cold that winter. Aja would eat the food and water I left him under the house crawlspace.
I spent the whole winter changing the food and water twice a day having to crawl on my stomch
Dom finally caught him by placing a big cage outside with food. One day Aja was in there and Dom carefully closed the door. Then months of confinement and training on my part.
Aja is all grey, 16 years old now. Waije-Meister for short.
Named after the Steely Dan song Aja
Aja when all my dimein’ and dancing is thru
I RUN TO YOU!
Quite sane cat lady thank you.
My big boy named Tubby was my nap cat. He would nuzzle into my armpit and we would power nap all afternoon, and we were joined by my 3 legged cat, Missy, on my lap.
Tubby is gone now but Missy is still with me.
I had a Missy once. She was with me for 19 years. She insisted on being in my lap all the time, and slept on my pillow so she could curl around my head. Black and white, half Siamese, very vocal.
She is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, I am sure. Just like your Tubby.
Missy was just a stray tabby that showed up at my barn ready to have kittens, but none of them survived. Then one day she was gone. About 2 weeks later I’m in the barn feeding in the morning and I hear a loud meow. There she was with a compound fractured right rear leg. I scooped her up and rushed to the vet and he amputated her leg. She’s been in the house and on lap for 10 years now.
That’s amazing.
Sometimes, cats just show up and find their way into your heart.
I have Mary and Paul, who were kittens of a stray who showed up over sixteen years ago. The mom died last year, and I don’t know how much longer Mary or Paul have. Mary has kidney disease, Paul has cancer. They are still my kittens.
We have had cats galore, my daughter use to work as a Vet Tech. So we had our share of clinc cats. Now we have three two older cats and one two year old stinker. All were rescue. Alfalfa, Tangey, and Timmy. Timmy gets into so much trouble but you cant help but love him.
