"...situational awareness..."

Envisioning...it is not unreasonable to cut the innocent victims some slack here. It was fast and with at least one shotgun.
Not everyone is prepared to assess and commence shooting at people exiting cars in a townhouse community.

The dirtbag thugs stole the car from which they launched the attack. For all we know their next door neighbor drives a similar vehicle.
It is difficult to remain in “Condition Yellow” for an entire lifetime. These innocent (and now likely Trump voters) don’t need our criticism.

I will not cut any slack. Oak Cliff is notorious. They are dumbasses for moving there, dumbasses for assuming trendy=safe, and dumbasses for walking a dog after midnight.

Agree. I try to remind myself whenever I am out to stay fully aware but its easy, and desirable at times, to slip back into a more casual state of mind. I now live in a much more rural environment, so its easy to relax and threats can be seen long before they are on your doorstep. Living in city and urban areas is going to be stressful and rough until we get back to the days of metering out swift justice against criminals. Send a few of these "sons of Obama" home in boxes, and maybe the rest will get the message.
