How can I argue with such unassailable logic?
I would imagine having its eyes gouged out, or a finger jammed in its ear would do something. I prefer rapid lead poisoning though.
You would think that people who own and walk these breeds would put a muzzle on them, but they seem to internally enjoy the fear that their dogs strike in other people.
Now you’re getting it. Finally; progress!
“If you cant control your dog w/voice command, consider not having one.”
Yes. My thoughts precisely.
Yes. the Veteran owner of the dog attacked showed remarkable coolness of mind, restraint, and situational control. Not all - not even most - of us would be able to do what he did.
“But like any dog breed some breeds will bite when feeling threatened.”
Yes. It is well that you are wary of pit bulls. My premise here - and also that of Dogsbite.org - is that while all dogs bite, some dogs are bred to bite, maul, kill, and destroy - to the death and without signalling intent - and they are being foisted upon an unsuspecting public.
It is not the pit bull dog’s fault that it was bred for this purpose or reacts in this way, but they are much too dangerous, deadly, and destructive to be allowed as pets, much as are wild animals - they have had brain abnormalities bred into them for over one hundred years to act in the manner that they do, and it cannot be “bred out” because it is not an added item, but a subtracted one.
Yes, thank you. This is correct. When one follows the money trail, however, it is to the benefit of the “pet industry”, along with others, to increase the “pet population” in order to sell more food, toys, medicine, et cetera.
I do not foresee a change in the situation in the near future.
” You could have trained your dog properly.
Doubt that is the answer you want to hear but it is what could have been done differently.
You also could have put a muzzle on your dog.”
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
All of these items would have helped, and the muzzle may have prevented the need to kill the pit bull.
I do find it interesting that a man with an Arabic name would own a dog. I don’t recall seeing that before.
The dog in question belonged to you. Is this correct?
You said it better than I did.
I don’t have a dog. It belonged to someone else.
Right; because Pit Bulls and other bully breeds are so mean. You people are soooo clueless.

one hundred years
Actually, mollossoids have been bred since somewhere around 500 B.C.
King Phillip (Alexander’s daddy) had them.
Thank you for the clarification.
Yes, as war dogs.
However, these postings address mostly the modern pit bull fighting dog, known by “dogmen” during the last one - to two hundred years as “bulldogs”.
An interesting sideline here on the Molosser breeds is the attempts during the last 90 or so years to bring back the war dog breeds, i.e., the Dogo Argentino, or “pure white”, and the Cane Corso. These dogs are pretty much giant pit bulls, and in the last month, two young wives of breeders of Dogo Argentinos were attacked and mauled by their husbands’ dogs.
One young wife was mauled to death. She was torn apart. This is a terrible way to die, one of the worst.
