You’ve just weighed anchor on another night of bliss, lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking of your sailboat in the calm sea. Before you is a small cove lined by craggy cliffs. Clear blue waters end at a white-sand beach. You’ve had it all to yourself for the last week.
It was supposed to be just an overnight stop. But it was so beautiful, you decided to stick around. After a quick dip, you’re enjoying a cup of coffee and a light breakfast on deck as you contemplate which island paradise you’ll go to next.

What are the two happiest days of a boat owner’s life?
I have neighbors that did this for several years after they retired.
When that was done, they moved back on land, bought a 35 foot RV and became Park Hosts at different State and National Parks.
Then they bought land. And - IN THEIR 80’S! - began building a home. By themselves. And I mean all by themselves, no contractors, no laborers, no nothing. Although he did cheat and have some help with the roofing. Being 85 years old and doing roofing in 105 degree heat is not good.
Anyway, they are 80 percent done with that home, and are in a different state now with more property. They plan to soon start - BY THEMSELVES - on building another home.
