Ivanka Trump’s Clothing Line Pulled From Yet Another Department Store (Canada)

Another Ivanka Trump placement bites the dust. Trump’s titular fashion line, Ivanka Trump, has been dropped by Hudson’s Bay, a Canadian department store. The line can no longer be found on the store’s website and will be gradually phased out of stores in the coming months.

Hudson’s Bay’s decision should not come as a surprise to Canadians. According to the Guardian, an activist group called the “Peeved Beavers” have been leading demonstrations against the store over the past year. And, of course, it has also been faced with the ultimate kiss of death for any fashion line — poor brand performance.

“Hudson's Bay is phasing out this brand through the fall based on its performance,” Meghan Biango, a Hudson’s Bay representative, told Refinery29. “As part of our regular course of business, we review our merchandise offerings and make appropriate changes.”

Hudson’s Bay is not the first store to drop Ivanka Trump’s line. Following the 2016 election, many merchandisers that carry Ivanka Trump’s label have faced intense pressure from the #GrabYourWallet campaign, which pushes consumers to boycott stores that carry Trump products.

Shannon Coulter, who started #GrabYourWallet, seemed to feel encouraged by Hudson’s Bay’s choice....

I’ve never heard of Yet Another.

Is that an exclusive Canadian clothing store?

If that’s the game they want to play, fine.
Maybe Ivanka can simply market a new line of clothes under a new name and brand. It has been done many times before, and for various reasons. Create a new coorporation, one with it;s own board of directors. She may even be able to trick a SJW type to become the ‘new face’ of her products. Laughing all the way to the bank!

She does. That was the next story on msn. However, I don’t really feel sorry for IVANKA. She has the most fabulous life, family who adore her, more money than I’m sure she knows what to do with and, of course, THE GREATEST FATHER IN THE WORLD! I’m sure she is not crying about this.

As an ex-canadian, think SEARS. It’s an old institution dept store that should have folded lots of times but the stupid govt keeps prepping it up.

It’s not exclusive canadian but it’s like the Sears of canada. I hated going there even when i was a teenager because the clerks were all a bunch of snobs. Zellers was my favorite because it was like Wal Mart when Wal Mart was not even in canada...

Well, two can play that game. If they want to yank Ivanka’s products out of the store, one can always chose to take ALL their business elsewhere....after all, the store needs the purchasers more than the purchasers need the store since there are always other choices.

“I think they used to be Zeller’s”

Actually Zellers was purchased by Target when they wanted to move into Canada. Target ran it for a while and gave up on Canada and sold all their stores there and fled. The assets may have been purchased by The Hudson Bay Co. who names their stores simply “The Bay”.

Hudson Bay is the Macy’s of Canada. As others posted they own some US department stores. They go back to the Hudson Bay Company founded in 1670.
