Yep.
Two years ago the hospital put me on insulin, and force-fed me carbs while I was there.
Once home, I threw out all the carbs, and bought red meat, chicken (with the fat on) fish and olive oil and lots of fresh non-starchy vegetables and cooked at home all the time for a while.
A month later, the doctor took me off insulin because my blood sugar readings were never over 150 (and often were lower). Now they are always under 130.
Should add that breakfast is bacon and/or sausage and whole eggs.
My brother has type 2. His wife is a nurse. Last time I saw them, she was feeding him 2 slices of pie for dessert after a carb heavy meal. For a medical professional, she’s absolutely clueless.
Even the American Diabetis Association pushes a “balanced” diet with carbs. They are not looking for a cure.
