And they need lots of energy to move those parts relative to each other. All that generators do is transform kinetic energy into electrical energy. Without the externally supplied kinetic energy they don’t do squat.

Look at portable generators for sale...say at Northern Tool where they have nice write-ups on the things for sale. You will most always see this: for every 1kW of generator output there will be 1.5 HP of gas/diesel engine married to that kW. Start scaling up the portable generator output and you can quickly see how big the combustion engine is going to get.

Throw a 30 amp continuous load on that generator and then see how quickly you’ll be heading to a fuel station. Rinse/repeat. $$$

This vid is soooo bogus.
