One again a sports body doesn’t know ITS AUDIENCE!
Yep. She’s SUCH a piece of work.
Had her here for a few days and it was just nonstop criticism of Amy and everyone and everything else. I don’t think the woman had a single nice thing to say about anything.
Plenty of Americans watch soccer. You have to remember the 80s and 90s were when soccer took off - they are now in their 30-40s played soccer and their kids play too. World Cup always has high TV viewership, going back to 1994. Even the women’s world cup has high viewership.
The 1994 WC in the US is still the most highly attended WC of all time.
Since now Premier League/La Liga/Bundesliga games are all available live in the US, the popularity of those leagues has skyrocketed here in the US, along with the UEFA Champions League.
The MLS will always be a minor league, compared to the big Euro leagues, but even so, they are focusing on creating a good fan experience.
Yup - I watch Bayern Munich and EPL on TV on the weekends all the time during season.
It’s the only social redeeming part of the game of succer.
Until 2026 :)
That is not correct. There must be two defenders closer to or even with the byline (end line) when the ball is played. Many people are confused by this because the goalkeeper is almost always closer to the byline, but not always, when the ball is played.
I root for Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund. Everton is my EPL team.
The line of scrimmage serves the same purpose in American football, and basketball has the three second rule. Same principle.
The offside rule in soccer is like football except that, since soccer is a continuous motion game, the "line of scrimmage" is constantly shifting. Players caught on the wrong side of it must get back onsides before participating in a play.
Soccer?! Focusing on ‘hot women’ is the ONLY reason to watch an otherwise dullard sport.
You’re right, I usually just imply the goaltender is going to be on his line.
And to determine if the ball has completed crossed the side line or byline. They also assist the Referee in determining fouls.
You know what’s boring? About four or five seconds of action, followed by 45 seconds of looking at guys standing in a circle and then lining up.
On the contrary, it is way more interesting than the pre-arranged results and endless anti-Americanism the NFL gives us.
Persian women are the most beautiful women in the world.
