We have to remember this:
What two countries have the most vested interest in defeating the deep state globalist one world government cabal? Us and Russia.
Now this is just my wittle own opinion but I think Russia did what they did not to sow discord but to actually prevent Hillary from becoming President. Why? See above. They knew that if she got in it was over. The globalists win or were very well on the road to success and Russia would then stand alone.
Remember, the EU and the UK are cooked. All over there unless a miracle happens.
