New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says he'll sue if the Supreme Court rolls back Roe v. Wade.
Gov. Cuomo has been calling on lawmakers to increase protections in New York.
"We never passed the New York State law because we relied on Roe v. Wade and everyone assumed it would always be there," Gov. Cuomo said.
During the 2016 election, Donald Trump regularly stated that he would only appoint judges to the Supreme Court that would overturn the ruling.

The left is very afraid it would not pass or be struck down. This is why they certainly do not want it going back to the states.

The framers of the Constitution addressed the need to amend the contract between the people and their government in the future. Article V describes the process for amending the document. If Cuomo truly wishes to provide Constitutional protection for the killing of a baby in the womb, he is free to begin the amendment process. Once the right to abortion at will is enshrined in the document, courts will not be able to prohibit abortion.
The Constitution does not give the Supreme Court, and other federal courts, the power to change or amend the Constitution. That power has been created by the decree of the court and the failure of the two other co-equal branches of government to stop this usurpation of power by the judicial branch.
As others have noted, states have the power to make abortions legal within their borders. In the highly unlikely event the Supreme Court reverses Roe v. Wade, New York is free to pass a law giving anyone in the state the right to have an abortion.
Poor planning on your part does not necessitate an emergency on mine.

Classic left wing crud. Since Kennedy announced he was retiring they’ve been pushing this Roe v Wade thing. It’s their concoction, no one else. They’re pathetic. Typical scare tactics, along with the coat hangers and actresses screeching “get out of my vagina”.
I wonder if we can sue him for emotional distress for being such an embarrassment to the people of this state?
