LMAO :D
That is hilarious!
I try to make sure I let a little time pass between getting doggie kisses and the last time I saw them doing various things with their tongues.
But you know, I am sure that there have been times where I have been less than vigilant, then boom, LICK!
I ain’t turning down dog kisses. Just ain’t.
Earlier this year I had the most unfortunate opportunity to perform dog CPR when a beloved dog that I adopted suddenly died at 19 months old for seemingly no apparent reason.
She was still warm when I found her, so I tried. I’m not expert at it, but I know the process.
Aside from chest compressions, I put her nose in my mouth, clamped her muzzle, and breathed my breath into her. Didn’t even think twice about it. I would have traded places with her if I could, because she brought more light into this world than me. I couldn’t bring her back.
Anything for dogs. They are the best.
I dont know...the french phrase might be referring to dr nasser and/or dr tyndall....
When a female wolf or wild dog’s pups have their teeth come in mom stops breast feeding them and feeds them by regurgitation. To stimulate that response the pups lick her face and snout. This is what a dog is doing when they lick your face. They’re just trying to see if you’ve got anything good to eat.
I have to admit that I let the dog lick me and share food with it also. She also shares our bed. She actually is so spoiled and finicky that she sniffs everything that we offer her and turns down anything that isn’t meat or some sort of sweet.
I am sorry about the young dog that you tried to save. As you have probably guessed from my pseudonym I have done CPR many times using a bag valve. I would think twice before doing mouth to mouth on an adult person, but my co-workers and I have done mouth on dogs and kitties that we pulled out of houses that have stopped breathing from smoke inhalation. None of us worried about catching a disease from a dog or cat.
This is Blanca. She was my friend. Isis is behind her, she is still with me. I've never done CPR on a person before. I was trained on that many years ago, so I am sure I need retraining. I've only read about the process on canines until the day I tried the procedure on Blanca. Tough day.
Dogs eat their own feces - so not a great idea.
“Tonight we are eating Sockeye Salmon. They will split a filet and have it on their own plate, which are also my plates, and then they will lick my plate clean as well.”
Wow. Sounds like she was a great dog. Ours is a rescue and we know he knows the difference having a home and a pack to belong to makes in his life. Sorry to hear you lost her to that illness.
We’ve read that the Walker as a hunting hound forms a very close bond with whomever is its handler.
That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.
I believe Americans are TOO clean, to the point of paranoia. A little snake venom now and then eventually innoculates most people against the toxicity of a full snake bite. I believe a little dirt and grime and filth once in a while growing up helps to innoculate us against more potent things. Ithink people who live too clean too long get weak and set themselves up for serious illness by something nasty hat comes along. I wonder if some of our First world diseases are not caused in large part from being too clean.
I am not aware of a single person who ever wound up in the hospital because his dog licked his face.
So, how long after a dog licks his butt does that trace matter stay in his mouth with all that saliva saliva constantly washing his mouth? It would take medical level instruments to detect the amount of anyrhing but dog saliva on his tongue.
Meanwhile, dog saliva is an antibacterial disinfectant. So is human saliva for that matter. This is why so many bad diseases require blood to blood contact and cant transfer from kissing, for example.
LMAO :D <3
My dog would always eat his poop on Eukanua brand dog food. Yuck! I switched to Solid Gold brand dog food. Problem solved. No more poop eating.
Then again, that German Shepherd was not a licker, and not a touchy feely dog in any way.
I’ll pass, thanks.
I try to avoid them doing it too much but mostly, I just don’t think about it.
I occasionally lick my own minor wounds: lessens pain, speeds healing.
Not kidding. Science nerd. But dogs? No.
