Of course it never occurs to the MSM that Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine share a remote and sparsely patrolled international border with Canada.

During King Barack’s Reign of Error citizens who objected to having their phone calls monitored by the NSA were told by Big Government supporters that they had no reason to object unless they were guilty of something.
So what are these people in New England complaining about? If the people being checked are legal, there is no problem
.unless Jose and Maria don’t show up to mow the lawn or babysit. Then it’s a problem.

I often travel I-91 from a point near the Vermont/Quebec border heading south.I usually see Border Patrol vehicles on the side of the road as far as about 30 miles from the border.
I've never been stopped and never seen anyone else stopped but their vehicles are very visible...presumably deliberately so.

Illegal aliens are EVERYWHERE!
This is not a southwest problem anymore.
Virginia was overrun during the George W. Bush administration.

“Im not sure how I feel about this.”
I think Obama gave them authority, within 100 miles of the border. Where is ICE/Immigration enforcement. They still have not stoped the invading hoards. The media picked up on Obama’s separation camps and labeled them as Trump’s.
Now we have the story that Mexico’s new president is building a southern boarder wall. Well that another old story. As Obama gave Mexico the money to build said wall. It is probably hear completion.
The propaganda is off the charts!!!

I think Obama gave them authority, within 100 miles of the border. The 100-mile border zone were adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice in 1953.

“Really, because Im not sure how I feel about this.”
Why? It’s their job. Border patrol agents monitor the borders for illegal activities including illegal entry into the country as well as drug trafficking.

Under 8 CFR 287 (a) (3), Border Patrol agents are authorized to conduct operations including boarding and searching vessels and vehicles for aliens. This authority extends to a reasonable distance from the border and is defined as 100 air miles under 8 CFR 287 (a) (1). These operations are becoming more common on the northern border.
