I think it is *NOT* the number, or type of vaccinations required, it’s the WAY they are administered. Too many all at once, far too close together, and far too young.

I actually had an unknown allergic reaction to something on an American Airlines flight way back in 90-91. 2 nurses on the flight said thats what it looked like. It itched like hell and I broke out in welts over my chest. I begged every person on that plane for a sudafed and was dumbfounded that the plane didnt have epinefrin on board.(Epi-pen from the olden days). Ice packs were all I could come up with till we landed then I rushed to Little Creek medical and they got me settled down.

Crazy memory from decades ago. I am itching now.

Methinks our increased soy intake is the reason for more peanut allergies, no one heard of peanut allergies 50 years ago, before soy was put into everything.

I am not alone in asking what the heck is causing all this? Are they related? Is it pollution? Water? Rising expectations?

I believe that peanut allergies, gluten intolerance, et al, is not an allergy to the food product but the pesticides used. Peanuts in particular are known for being heavily sprayed.

These ailments were unheard of a couple decades ago, and people have been eating wheat for.e.ver.

Please, parents, introduce your kids to peanut butter early.

Also, Trump is bashing Europe (which ever so deserves bashing) over their limits on US agricultural imports. But as I understand it, a lot of that has to do with Europe turning down GMO foods—which I think is the right way to go.

I think it’s parents being so paranoid of germs, they literally make their kids grow up in a “plastic bubble” so their immune systems never totally develop.

In addition to that, you have a certain percentage that don't have a physical allergy to certain things, it's a mental allergy.

It has become a popular 'thing' to have an 'allergy' to certain foods/pets/etc. just so they can impose their 'will' on others.

The same people who are allergic to 'everything' on the pop list also seem to be the same ones that insist their emotional support pig be allowed to ride in the cabin on airliners. Somehow they are never 'allergic' to their own pets.

It’s about the money saved, not the allergies. Same with Starbucks straws, money saved. Starbucks has two garbage bins, one for regular garbage and one for recycling, I saw them take both out to the garbage, it’s all smoke and mirrors to appease the environmental crowd.

I have had FReepers of a bit older age tell me that the “Dear Penthouse” stories in fact happened in the “gogo” days of stewardesses who were looking for fun in the air.

Never happened to me but I didn’t start flying regularly until the 90s.

But I do recall the airlines shamelessly pushed the sex appeal. And many Asian airlines still do in their native countries, where they are allowed to hire based on looks (ah the good old days).

I’ve got an idea. If you are allergic to peanuts, don’t eat them. If you’re not sure, don’t eat them. Period.

“If no snacks are provided I bring my own but you probably can’t get a tiny bag of chips past the TSA goons.”

A huge variety of snacks and fast foods are available at most airports once you get past TSA. Everything from chips & snacks at the news stands to Bubba Gump shrimp dishes and BBQ ribs and Lobster rolls, depending on which airport.

Flying was more expensive and exclusive.

If you were flying First Class in the 60’s and 70’s you were very well off or high enough in your corporate infrastructure and would get phone numbers especially if there was no wedding band.

Today it’s more like Greyhound...

“”Southwest said the airline would still permit individuals with a peanut allergy to board aircrafts in advance so they may clean seats and trays.””

That’s a good plan...travelers with peanut allergies can board early to clean the seats! You know that’s not a bad idea. But if they’re not serving peanuts, why would anything need to be cleaned of peanut residue?

Why should it matter that someone has an allergy to peanuts or to anything? I react horribly to people’s perfume and the smell of certain materials - can’t stand to go to a yardage shop - if they even exist anymore. Nothing more irritating than to go to a movie and sit by someone who reeks to high heaven of foul smelling perfume...

Can women OR MEN passengers object and demand airlines to bar anyone from boarding with malodorous whatever?

When do we sane, normal, logical, sensible persons get some special recognition?

Sorry to see SouthWest caving to this insanity.

From now on I will bring bags of peanuts to munch loudly and visibly.

>>Today it’s more like Greyhound...<<

Cattlecall Airways.

I sometimes fly Mexican airlines. THEY get the “you paid for this and you and you alone get it.”

Populism is overrated sometimes.

(I might get in trouble for this post)
