Like this lady, my mother was under hospice care and had a plug-in electric concentrator. Visit a hospital or care facility or medical supply house or ,...

Google.

cutting off the power to such medical needs cases is strictly illegal in some states at least

i bet there will be some sort of criminal charges announced soon in this case

Yes, the family is also responsible, they could have paid the bill to keep the power on.

” If she were on hospice, living on her own the Hospice folks would have been aware of the situation. They could have (and would have) contacted the utility.”

You would have to call the hospice provider. They are not telepathic.

Look at the link.

They are called oxygen concentrators and are very common.

The power company has to know there is a person that has medical needs first

They come to the house. They are there just about every day.

No oxygen for several hours.

Died surrounded by her family.

Question Number One....

Did Grandma have a large life insurance policy?

I think they think her life is worth a large settlement.

.
Visit reality!

Electric generation is not a long term solution; it is mostly for portable short term use.

I had one of those; it threw a rod before the first tank was used up.

They are oxygen concentrators. But should have had back-uptanks. I guess they were gambling tge power would never go out, even by natural causes. Grandma lost.

A concentrator is what my mother had. It is powered by electricity and it concentrates the oxygen right out of the air. That is used in a home environment or a hospital.

The oxygen tanks are what patients use to run errands etc.

Way too exhausted today to read full article, so I know my comments are risky.

But, WHAT?

Was this woman so incapacitated they could not a) take her to THEIR home b) take her to hospital c) call ambulance?

Why were they haranguing with the utilities? Why not give that up and just take care of her immediate needs? Deal with the utilitiy later!
