I can't help but think with the technology today it is almost not fair to compare it to what E.K. did.
* Suspension Travels of 12"
* 2 Stroke and even 4 stroke engines with power to weight ratios that make that Sportster look like a boat anchor.
* Stiff Chassis that E.V. couldn't dream of.
* Telemetry, if you wanted to practice and all sorts of science to put on your laptop to figure it out.
The real long shot that I guess he won't use is Electric Power. 1st size, or pick the motor of your needs. You could figure out just how much battery power you need for the ramp, and warm up, size it for that and the instant continuous torque to get up too speed would a advantage as well.

He did the jump with a bike that was as close to Evils as they could get it.
That being said, me thinks Travis had a much better motor in this bike than Evil did.

Yup, modern equipment makes it look easy. But one other equipment difference is the size of the brass .... spheres. Evel Kneivel’s were so big they definitely weighted him down and probably caused him to lose a foot or two of lift but he didn’t care.
