Absolutely, an untrained dog is not a happy dog either, besides making everyone around it annoyed too. Dogs love to have structure and rules, and know exactly where they stand in the unit.

No truer words spoken. It takes work, but it is worth it. Of course, it takes a lot less work when you have a highly trainable dog like a German Shepherd as opposed to a Beagle. Training a GSD the basics doesn’t take much time at all, but the downside is that they need training many other breeds don’t need, such as problem barking, over protective guarding and separation anxiety. So, you can’t win for losing I guess.
