Now see, there is the big difference between dogs and cats, aside from how much more intelligent dogs are.

Dogs were bred for what they do. Cats are bred for how they look. So personality and function are pretty much an afterthought in the breeding of cats. It would be interesting if someone would breed only friendly, fearless, obedient cats and see what breed of cat they had after 30 years or so of breeding just that.

But yeah, as far as personality, cats aren’t bred for anything. They just “are”.
