Carlos Ray "Chuck" Norris was born on March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. In 1958, after high school, Norris joined the Air Force as an Air Policeman (AP) with the goal of training in the Security Police in preparation for a career in law enforcement.
Norris was sent Osan Air Base, South Korea where he began his training in Tang Soo Do (tangsudo), an interest that led to the founding of the Chun Kuk Do ("Universal Way") form.
When he returned to the United States, Norris continued to act as an AP at March Air Force Base, California, until he was honorably discharged in August 1962.

Chuck Norris is the only person that can punch a cyclops between the eye.
The only thing tougher than an over cooked pork chop is...Chuck Norris.
The day after he was born, Chuck Norris drove his mother home from the hospital.
Chuck Norris doesn’t do pushups. He pushes the earth down.
Chuck Norris sleeps with a night light. The dark is afraid of Chuck Norris.
.....said Marion.
The Duke was an imposing actor. But he was just that, an actor. On the other hand, Chuck Norris is the real deal: veteran, air policeman, black belt in karate.

The Duke tried to enlist in AF, ARMY , Marines, he was rejected all on medical grounds, at least he tried.
I’ve read that Wayne tried to enlist, but the movie studios pulled strings to block his efforts.
Can you tell me where you got the information about Wayne’s enlistment efforts. John Wayne received a 3-A deferment from the draft for family dependency since he was a father of four and had just made Stagecoach (1939) as a then unknown actor.
I didn’t find anything about any further attempts to enlist and with the help of John Ford, who was a commander in the Navy during WW II, he resigned himself to making feel good military movies to help the public in their fears of loss in the war.
You posted he tried to enlist in the AF. Where did you get this as the Air Force wasn’t founded until mid September of 1947, two years after WW II ended. Someone is selling you some misinformation on Wayne. Sorry you got it.

Sorry eastforker, my questions were to Leaning Right from his post previous to you. Something is wrong with the system as your post is in the place of the other with your name on his on my computer. Can’t bleed a turnip.

I should have stated army air corp in stead of air force. point is, he didn’t try to shirk his duties.
