t was November 2016 and the only person I knew who believed Trump would win the US election was the owner of my gym. This was clearly a ridiculous prediction so, seeing the chance for some easy money, I offered to bet him $100 that Hillary would win.

It was 9 November 2016 and my thinking about fitness changed almost overnight. In tune with the times, it became more Trump, less Obama.
In the spirit of the Donald, I drank more bottles of Diet Coke and ate more McDonald’s. I dropped the gym – embracing Trump’s belief that we are given a certain amount of energy and if we use it then we are depleting a finite resource.

By contrast, I’m a conservative who tries to live a godly lifestyle. I watch what I eat and try not to indulge every feel-good impulse I come across because, you know... adult. 8 years ago my wife and I decided to get into shape. It had been decades. We initially worked out with trainers in small groups until we built a base of fitness. The first few weeks were not fun. But once we made it we found it was easier to maintain fitness than getting there in the first place. She still goes to the gym and works out with mostly middle aged ladies 3x per week. I quit some time ago and now just work out at home with a buddy several times per week using the p90X & p90X3 series dvds and mixing in a few moderate weight-lifting routines I’ve come up with. Each takes about 45 minutes. Now at almost 60 years of age I’m 190lbs., 6’1” tall with a 32-33” waist and a 46” chest and little excess body fat. I recently completed 30 straight pull ups (not chin-ups, not swing-ups) before launching into the rest of my workout. If we can do it, a lot of people can who currently don’t and tell themselves they can’t.

First, she’s an Australian, writing for the UK’s Guardian. She could hardly be less affected by anything President Trump says or does. It seems DJT’s mere presence on the planet is enough to set her off. Clearly this is an advanced, acute case of TDS.
Second, I challenge her to name one single thing DJT has done that has had a negative impact on her life. (No, she doesn’t get to count the self-inflicted items like the inability to open a jar.)
Third, ARGHHH! The problem isn’t just with her. There are literally millions and millions of people worldwide in a similar state of prolonged hysteria. And worse, many millions of these ARE US citizens with the ability to vote.

So poor Brigid is so distraught by the elections in another country that she’s given up exercise. Right. I was pretty shot down when Subianto lost to Widodo in Indonesia, and when Compaore lost to Burkinabe in Burkina Faso I was just about inconsolable and had to drown my sorrows in beer. It’s their fault I’m fat.
Here is an idea. Float a giant Trump Pig over your house in protest. That will show the world. Guessing she stiffed the gym owner. Did not bother to read.
She stopped going to the gym because of deep fat fried everything. She needs some therapy to get Trump out of her head, or she can just stop acting like an idiot.
