My wife used to say that our Bichon Frise “smiled.” I never bought into the dog smiling thing. That is nothing but humans anthropomorphizing animals.

But look up smiling pitbulls.

Yes, I read somewhere that’s it’s just the structure of the dog’s face that makes it appear they are smiling, regardless of breed. People just like to think they are being smiled at.

Yes. Human beings are created in the image of God. Dogs are animals. I see no reason to be cruel to dogs - or other animals - but they’re just animals. If you need to, you can eat them, make clothing from their hides, etc. They’re animals.
If a dog eats his owner, the owner likely deserved it.
The owner takes this responsibility.
Give them enough people meat, and such dogs will be quite happy, for a little while.

The “alpha” nonsense is another term that you hear all over the place. Propaganda from cable shows, brainwashes unsuspecting people just going about their everyday life. The ultimate purpose is to make people want to be more animalistic.

I have very little experience with Pitts other than a friend who has a very good one but I did once have an English Setter of very good breeding. He was absolutely hardwired to to hunt and had more natural skill than can be taight to most dogs. If a dog is bred to that same level to fight you’ve got a monster no matter what the environment.

Yes. Pit bull types have been bred to fight. Their brains now contain abnormalities causing “impulse aggression”, which is the behavior that causes them to “go game” (dogfighter expression) and attack indiscriminately.

I believe I said that I found them attractive. Most likely, I did not elaborate sufficiently. These dogs have the beauty of form=function, so perhaps “beauty” is the wrong term. Let us call it “the beauty of efficiency”.

Apparently, when breeding for purpose, form follows function.
When breeding for speed, the physical result is a long-legged, slender, aerodynamic dog with short hair. The Greyhound type.
So, while dogfighters bred for an efficient killing temperament, this form came about. Pitbull breed-type are well-configured animals for fighting, mauling, and killing.
They are excellent killing machines.
I find them attractive behind glass.
