I’ve been either grilling our veggies or roasting them. They taste awesome!
Historically my fasting blood work was always out of whack bigly in HDL, LDL, and triglycerides. I went on a keto diet for a few months, then had blood work done and everything, to my amazement, was in the green.

I’ve lost almost 25 pounds by just being somewhat disciplined with carbs.
My fave proteins are eggs, chicken thighs with skin on, steaks, pork chops, and fish with skin on. If I’m pinched for time I’ll do unsweetened whey protein mixed in whole milk.
Lotsa fresh veggies.
Also recommend weight lifting and walking.
Pretty much the standard stuff but I think lowish carb and high quality are important distinctions.
And I would say genetics is probably the biggest factor in overall health.

Any woman who wants her husband to live a long time needs to listen to your advice. She says she's "in the mood" if he'll join her for a 3 mile walk first, and keeps doing that until he walks any extra weight off. A whole lot of very happy men will willingly walk 6 or even 9 miles a day with a real incentive.
The alternative: "here, eat tofu and tree leaves, and you'll live forever" makes normal men see living longer on that diet as a punishment.
