Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly defend Ocasio-Cortez: She's 'trying to do what she believes is right'

Former Fox News hosts and conservative commentators Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck offered praise for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she knocked off Democratic Rep. Joseph Crowley (N.Y.) in a primary earlier this week.

"I have heard some Republicans deride Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and I think that’s a mistake," O'Reilly tweeted this week. "She won by outworking long time Democratic Congressman Joseph Crowley and seems to care more about people than power. A good thing for any politician."

O'Reilly, who was fired from Fox News in 2017 after sexual harassment complaints against him were reported, complimented Ocasio-Cortez's voter outreach but made clear he disagrees with her policy views, adding "socialism never works. Ask Venezuela."

Beck, who left Fox in 2011, echoed his former colleague's thoughts and expressed appreciation for Ocasio-Cortez's honesty.

"@Ocasio2018 seems genuine and honestly trying to do what she believes is right. I completely disagree with her solutions, but she is listening to her community. I would rather debate an open socialist than those who hide what they believe," Beck tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez, a self-described democratic socialist and former organizer for Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) 2016 presidential campaign, embraced Beck's comments.

"Thank you, @glennbeck. We may disagree, but I sincerely appreciate the good faith," she tweeted.

>>Selling socialism to the young and idealistic is easy though. Hey friends and neighbors; how would you like it if you all made the same money and were guaranteed a job so you could focus more on what matters most in your life like family? If so; socialism is for you!

It is particularly easy in a culture where fathers are driven away from the family, or are forced to be a mom-like parent who never offers Dadly advice like, “If you’re gonna be stupid, you better learn to be tough” and “there ain’t no such thing as free lunch, kid” and the best of all: “hey guys, watch my dumbass kid. He’s about to learn not to ever do that again.”

Sorry. That’s not an excuse. The Ayatollahs think so too. As does ISIS, Assad, Castro etc.

Beck takes one step forward and two steps back. Wasn’t he railing about fascism and socialists a few years back? I remember him on Fox tv wearing lederhosens and acting like Hitler with Obama’s in office?

Being sincerely wrong means zero to me.

To millions of swing voters...in our snowflake society? It may mean something...

Just because she been misguided doesn’t mean she’s a bad person. She’s just wrong.

“”but she is listening to her community””

Boy - is that ever delusional thinking! Her community doesn’t have a clue what she’s up to. None of them would be able to define what it is she advocates...

Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly defend Ocasio-Cortez: She's 'trying to do what she believes is right'

Charles Manson was only trying to do what he believed was right.

Hillary Clinton was trying to do what she believes is right.

Pol Pot was simply trying to do what he thought was right.

James Comey was trying to do what he felt was right.

Yes, it sounds just that stupid.
