OK, I've had it with Facebook. I've been on there for a year or so, only because of my kids and grandkids, and a few, close, personal friends. My total number of "Friends" on there is only 54, (and a few of those need to go).
Now - in order to get their hooks into more people - you only get to read the "News Feed" IF, you add "more friends". They've blocked me at only one post I can read, until I add more friends.
I refuse. I've got the friends I want, and that's all I want. It's not a "popularity contest" to me, it's communications.
Therefore, I'm thinking about bowing out of FB. The only thing is, I need to post to my friends where they can reach me...does anyone know of a FB-like site that I can re-locate to?
Suggestions appreciated, and sorry about the vanity - I don't do it very often...only a handful of times in I joined FR in 1998.
Their rules... as long as they do not enforce them deceptively and selectively, which is consumer fraud.
They didn't require it when I signed up either. I'm guessing that some of the comments (always polite) that I made over the years caused them to make that demand.

The mere fact that you post things and chat with your friends, dog stuff only or not, will give them an indication of your political leanings, if only slightly. Enough for an educated guess apparently.
I, on the other hand, had no politics section or no political affiliation shown for me in the "Your Categories" section.
Like I said before, they don't know me or anything about me because I refrain from posting stuff, writing things and clicking on "Like" buttons and such.
The reason they know you are conservative, is the very reason I don't send any signals to them about who I am. I don't want them to know anything.
It's been over 12 years on this FB page and nothing has ever changed. It's like I don't even exist to them.
Which is perfectly fine with me.
Yeah there has to be something along the line that I did, and perhaps do not remember, that revealed me as such.
Because I generally do not talk politics anywhere. I am as incognito as I can possibly be, no bumper stickers, no yard signs, just nothing. I don’t want anyone to know what i think on such matters, except for my closest friends who do know that information.

I closed my Facebook acct. Nothing but problems.
I’m asking for a cloud picture frame for Christmas so they can upload pics directly to the frame....
That’s what we gave to our parents, for them to see pics of the kids/grands/greats.
They LOVE it!!
