I agree with you. Unless she's a direct threat to his safety (brandishing a weapon for example or actually physically on him hitting him) there's no reason for him to hit her, period.
He did the exact right thing in both cases (knocking out the guy, not putting a finger on her.)

I assume the good guys had multiple firearms and didn't use them because their use was neither justified nor needed. If one Antifa terrorist draws a gun, I expect we will find out how many decent Americans are prepared.
Not disagreeing, but he showed a lot of common sense by disengaging. As I posted to chris37, the antifa was using deadly force. That means he could have caused death or great bodily injury. The Patriot used reasonable force to overcome the deadly force. Then the Patriot disengaged, and that will negate loser complaints of brutality.
