Sony Pictures released a film starring Peter Fonda this week, even after the actor went on an unhinged, sexist, disturbing rant against President Trumps family and members of his administration.
The film bombed at the box office as audiences and critics alike gave it a thumbs down.
The film, Boundaries, starring Fonda in a supporting role earned just over $30,000 since its release.
After it made headlines in Hollywood for the wrong reasons, Sony Pictures Classics Boundaries is off to a tepid start at the indie box office, as it opened on five screens this weekend. Directed by Shana Feste and starring Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer, the film has made $30,395 for a per screen average of $6,079.
The film has a 58-percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

We already know from recent news that Netflix is pedo - tolerant.
Tried to track down the cost of production. Couldnt find it. Sure it was more than $30k. Anyone else know?
DMCL is my favorite chase movie of all time,, saw it a the Drive IN in the 70’s... Bullitt comes in a distant second
That's so true......Fonda gave movie-goers a wonderful reason to buy a ticket to his movie. And what did they do....they muffed it. Go figure.
Yes, I wonder when they start referring to these relics from America’s low point in history as “former actors”.
“lost more money by not pulling the movie”
Tax write off, money laundering, etc.
He had like an eight year run of some great B-class movies, and by the late 70s...he was mostly washed-up.
He had a part in Love And A .45 sometime in the mid 1980s. Decent movie.

“She replied, I gives people jobs.”
I got basically the same response from the NY State Office Of The Aging in Allegany County years ago. We wanted to move back to NY to take care of my elderly parents when we retired, but taxes made it impossible.
I told the secretary that if NY would lower their taxes, children could afford to live there and help their parents. That way their office would be able to cut back.
She gazed at me as though I were talking dolphin-speak or something — like I didn’t “get it”. (I didn’t, as it turns out.) “We aren’t here to help the parents; we’re here to give people jobs.
At least she was honest.
“whatever happened to Susan George, the actress?”
Yeah. Wasn’t she in all those Quinn. Martin productions? Really cute, IIRC.
“Apparently the Sony statement didnt convince...”
If he had just a minor role, they could have cut him out and re-released. I suspect that it never was expected to make money, so even a simple edit wasn’t worth the bother.
You cant even cater a wedding for 30k
30 grand. LOL.
A good cameo in Escape from LA. (the surfing scene)
When/if it comes out in theaters, people need to stand outside of said theaters with signs showing exactly what he said, just in case people might not know.
They opened it on 5 screens. That’s a joke. Of course it didn’t make any money.
In my mind the real question is, was it intended originally to open on only five screens? Or did Sony get wobbly and do this to try and stay under the screen after his statements.
There was a kids movie, Thomas the Train that had him and Alec Baldwin in it. Worst acting I’ve ever seen was by Fonda. The young girl in it was ten times the actor(actress) that fonda was.
