Do Israeli girls still call themselves “sabras”?
Meaning, prickly on the outside but sweet on the inside.
As a former tanker I have to give this idea thumbs down. Every crew member must crosstrain to do the others’ job if necessary.
Humping 105mm rounds is no picnic; first they have to be lifted from the ground to the loader’s hatch, then slid into ready racks, then loaded & fired, & then the red hot hull has to be tossed out of the loader’s hatch.
Old saying: strength test 100 males & 100 females: the ten strongest women are only as strong as the ten weakest males.
It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.
“Sabra” means native-born Israeli.
It is not limited to male or female.
My best friend is a tanker, he agrees.
Dumb idea.
Add to that the fact that you spend a LOT of time in the tank. Early morning, guy rubbing one out quietly was not abnormal. He was the TC and caught a few guys doing that.
Add a girl to that. No bueno.
