I think it also maintains the illusion that Native Americans are just victims of Western Civilization, which is the cause of all the world’s evil. The same people think that the Middle East would be just fine without Israel, and Islamic culture is morally superior to our own. Slavery, genocide, and mistreatment of women occurs there only because they all prefer it that way.
