Thanks - glad you brought that to my attention.
I had not heard that term before, and I was thinking of the Italian word for “eat,” which contains an “I”. That guess of mine isn’t so far-fetched when you consider the spirit cooking and such horrific topics we have been bunny holing around here for a while.
An online dictionary has it thus:

Some of the manga art is really wonderful. Modernized big-eyed children reminding me of the popular fad from the 60’s.
