It is good, actually.

On the practical side, it means that a D with seniority and status was thrown out and now there’s a low-ranking one in his place, thus weakening their position in the House.

On the ideological side, it means that the left is in a civil war. The violent ideologues vs. the greedy establishment vs. what few have some vestige of sanity—though many of those are already on the Trump train.

Of all of them, however, the greedy establishment is the most dangerous.

I agree with your thoughts.....the Democratic Party got a sampling of Bernie Sanders in 2016, and I think a good one-third of their typical voters....now prefer hard-left socialist-type candidates. The working-class guy? He’s not going to buy off on this. As you suggest, the party for the next five years will be in some heavy discussions and trying to show themselves as one unit.

This could well be the start of a 3rd party situation.
