Watch a gutsy squirrel steal a doughnut from cop

Stealing anything from a police office is pretty bold. But a doughnut?

That's asking for some serious trouble.

A brazen squirrel in Anchorage, Alaska, did just that, prompting the police department to post a video of the bandit on its Facebook page

The actual crime was not recorded but an "Evading Arrest on Foot(feet) warrant" has been issued.

An unnamed Bird, possibly Hillary "The Snake" Rodbird, is sought for questioning for possibly being involved. She was spotted screeching annoyingly at the Police just before the crime, possibly as a diversion. She can be observed swooping down at the end of the video, most likely to obtain her cut of the ill-gotten donut.

I’ll take that under advisement. I don’t recall the locale where the crime went down. Is that locale KNOWN to have magpies? Here in the mid-atlantic states, I don’t recall EVER seeing a magpie. We have mockingbirds, which I enjoy, and have had no desire to kill any.

I concede that it must be a magpie, on the strength that the crime went down in Anchorage, AK. It’s very doubtful there’d be mockingbirds there. That would apparently be a black-billed magpie. The Eurasian magpie is more colorful. Downright attractive, eeevunnn. Thanks for the information.

This is an episode of a jazzed up yardrat taking a donut for his own enjoyment set upon by a thieving magpie. The officer should be punished for leaving that much sugar available to a junkie. To save the officers azz. He should’ve jumped out and shot the magpie for harm to a defenseless junkie. This is the sort of scene played out here in the greater northwest. My heart aches for all involved. By the way. Do not leave anything edible around for magpies. No self control I’m afraid. 😁

You’re right, Mockingbirds don’t range that far north. I’ve seen thousands of the critters and recognized him right away. :)

The magpies go everywhere in a tuxedo. Rated a genteel being by attire. A cad by behavior. They were the epitome of grifter, until the Clintons. It’s gotta be hard to lose first place.
