"Jimmy went to Houston to play a game of one-on-one basketball against Texas Senator Ted Cruz in what we called the “Blobfish Basketball Classic.” The reason this happened is because after Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, Jimmy showed a picture of Senator Cruz at the Houston Rockets game and he likened him to a blobfish. Cruz did not like that so he challenged Jimmy to a game of one-on-one for charity. To be likened to a Blobfish, is not a complement, but it is very catchy and very amusing just the same.
Take a google look at Blobfish, and you’ll see what I mean.
The poor thing is an Ugly Duckling, the ‘Platypus of the Ocean Floor’.
Typical Hollywood...Cruz actually wins but the media reacts like Kimmel did.
Kimmel gets the MVP. How corny!
Kimmel brought up how Trump treated Cruz in the election. But Kimmels was also very insulting to Cruz and his children.
Cruz just basically stood there and took it. Kimmel comes off looking very bad.
Cruz should NEVER have given Kimmel the time of day......much less this publicity!

Mondie4bn 2 days ago Jimmy I watch your show and you make some great points many times. This one was an error though on a couple of fronts. First you bring entire crowd, you fail to walk the fine line between comedy and insults, you bring yourself a trophy for MVP and you insult a Cruz in front of his kids (you should never violate the innocence of kids). You let your emotions get the better of you and it should not happen again, please.

Daxcheese555 3 days ago This was a moment for both parties to humanize each other. What happens? Jimmy mercilessly bullies Cruz in front of his family with an entire crowd behind him. And you can actually see Cruz just take it and try to be the bigger man. What was also pathetic was Kimmel getting a consolation prize while the winner, Cruz, got nothing!
